Optical Character Recognition or OCR

OCR is a technique that allows a program to recognize letters, numbers and punctuation marks from within a document. You can still start editing a scanned document, such as an invoice, a CMR or a timesheet, in this way.

What are you with it?

Not that much … unless you can start processing the data from such a read-in document into your systems. Let just that be the great strength of RPA. No wonder players like Automation Anywhere, IBM and UiPath include a strong OCR module as standard with their RPA software
