The challenge

Toyota Material Handling Europe’s Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) center at Wilrijk does forklift distribution to Belgium, Denmark, France, the Netherlands and Sweden. The machines are also technically adapted for transport to local market standards or according to specific customer orders which cannot be carried out at the source, in the factory. Order processing was done manually through a combination of several internal systems.

The solution

The data bot checks incoming orders in the ERP system daily. The configuration of the machine is checked, if it is correct the order is further processed in the ERP system. If there is a configuration error, the order is placed on a clean sweep list for the customer support department to work with. Once the order is complete, the databot orders the machine from the appropriate Toyota factory and confirms the delivery date as soon as it receives it from the factory.

The result

On the one hand, customer support employees were relieved of a particularly time-consuming and numbing task, and on the other, processing capacity increased significantly, which is very important during peak times. After all, volumes can fluctuate significantly throughout the year which is very difficult to accommodate with manual work.
